Hi! My name is Jan Horner. I received a Master of Science in Counselor Education from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette in 2016. I am a pre-licensed mental health counselor working under the supervision of Katherine Glick, LPC (LPC Lic # 37PC00477600, PC009315). I completed a Master’s degree as part of a CACREP-accredited program, which gave me insight into utilizing eclectic counseling techniques to assist individuals of all ages from different cultures, socioeconomic statuses, and religious/spiritual backgrounds. I believe that a caring, authentic and strong connection between clients and the therapist is essential to facilitate meaningful change and it is a privilege to be to be invited to participate in another person’s transformational journey. The invitation to be in a healing relationship must be met with respect, authentic compassion, and real human-to-human engagement. My role as a therapist is to not only help clients heal the inevitable relational wounds, but also to help them cultivate the resilience to live life with clarity, courage, and compassion.
